Designer HWW

I've been pretty busy lately, and I love it! I have been finishing Brennen's Rustic Cowboy American room, with the wonderful help of my mom and friend Wendy. Mom came to visit and brought her sewing machine and busted out a cute curtain in like 2 hours. Then my good-new friend Wendy came over and showed me how to make a quick, cheap cornice to hang over the curtain rod ( I love quick and inexpensive). They are usually stained wood, (like on Design on a Dime/ or house flips TLC) but I made mine out of poster board, batting, and hot glue. In the pics above I measured the window seal, cut out my board with a razor, hot glued length and sides all together, covered with batting and glued, and now... all I need to do is cut out the black fabric and pin/staple it to the back. I painted these boots, stars, and horses to match the color pallet. They will be placed (like the pic) along the front of the cornice. I love doing projects like this-- it's so fun to say "I made that", I get it from my mom!! :)
